The Rules of 7 Card Stud Poker

If you have had prior experience playing 5 Card Stud Poker, then the adjustment for 7 Card Stud will be very minimal. But even if you are used to playing other Poker variants, or have no Poker experience at all, the simplicity of the game makes it easy to comprehend.

After the players (3-10) make the contributions to the pot (the standard is $2/4 per game, although this can vary of course), the dealer (either from the casino or one of the players) distributes three cards, two down and one up. According to 7 Card Stud Poker rules, the betting commences when the player with the lowest value up card makes a bet for the minimum or maximum wager agree upon.

Calling, raising and folding (if any) follow, and as per 7 Card Stud Poker rules, the fourth card is dealt up, and the individual with the highest up card makes the wager. When the fifth card is issued it means the bets begin at the maximum level (i.e., $4) and raises are usually, as in all the rounds, at three levels.

The sixth card is also deal down, but the final card is dealt face down. In between are the betting rounds. Based on 7 Card Stud Poker rules, the final wagers are made after the final card is dealt, and the high hand wins the pot.

Some of the terms that are often used in conjunction with 7 Card Stud Poker includes the following: the highs are 10 to Ace, and low hands are 2 down to 9. The initial up card is called the door card. A split pair is one wherein one is a hole card; if the pair are both down, it is called a concealed pair.

Depending on the type of hands that you possess in 7 Card Stud Poker, you can either fast play (bet, raise and re raise) or slow play (check and call). The objective of the former is to get as many hands to concede or fold, and the latter is to keep as many in the game, to increase the pot and the odds as well.

7 Card Stud Poker rules, as you can see, are very similar to the other Stud games, and with the extra cards, offers more room for strategies and action. By familiarizing yourself with the procedures, you will be able to gasp the tactics much easier, and thus winning more.
